What a sucky weekend this has been.

I am totally having a pity-party over here for myself..if you'd like to join please read on.

My mom came back on Saturday from Israel where she arranged my grandma's funeral and sat the traditional 7 day mourning period. She came back with photos and some invaluable mementos from my grandma's home. I cried with her, and looked through everything with her. It was emotional and hard.. She told me that she ended up telling my grandma about my last pregnancy on Sunday (We were not out to anyone, but she passed away on Tuesday - about 3 hours before I started miscarrying).

On Saturday mom & I took on the front yard of her home and gardened until about 3pm. During this wonderfully distracting act a distant relative drove by and stopped to say hello and welcome my mom. She wished her a happy mother's day and then yelled to me "And I hope we won't have to wait anymore for you Missy! It's time to stop fooling around". It took every bit of strength I had not to throw the shovel at her..

At 5pm DH and I went to a restaurant with MIL, FIL and SIL to celebrate MIL's b-day as well as mother's day. No one said anything to me. I guess that's better then the relative's comment.

And now, in the office bathroom a co-worker asked if I celebrated mother's day with my mom and MIL. I said yes, and she asked: "and? are they asking when the baby is coming already?"

*HUGS* I'm so sorry for the loss of your grandma. Some people can be so annoying when they make those "harmless" comments about having kids. For people who have never suffered a loss, they just don't understand that not everyone is on the "normal" time table. Although, even before my first loss, with comments like that, I always wanted to snap that it is none of their d@mn business. I commend you for not throwing your shovel at her! I bet the yard looks amazing! It sounds like you spent a ton of time on it.

((hugs)) I'm so sorry for the recent loss of your grandma. And I hate that drive-by comment from the distant relative. She deserved to have that shovel chucked at her! Why do people think it's okay to make those kinds of comments? I know they're trying to be funny, but it's not funny and as PPs said, your reproductive plans are no one's business but your own. An IL asked me this weekend if DH and I were thinking about having kids soon. My jaw dropped. Did she somehow forget we just had a loss? Some people just don't think.

After we finish this round of mojitos, I'll pour everyone a margarita!

I'm so sorry about your grandma, that is so hard. I don't know why people are so insensitive about asking about others' baby plans, it is incredibly rude. Much hugs and love to you. (( hugs. ))

I am so so sorry about your grandma and that you had a bad weekend. my weekend sucked entirely also... i wish we could drink those mojitos together IRL! ((HUGS))

Sending some hugs your way. I'm sorry to hear of the loss of your grandmother. It's hard no matter when it happens.

I'm sorry to hear about the drive-by comment too. I hate those. I fear I'm going to start getting more and more of that as we approach the end of DH's law school road. It is for that reason I am keeping myself in as much of a bubble as possible. I basically only prefer to see people I see on a regular basis and know that we've been through 2 m/cs since Christmas.

Really hope things turn up for you soon.
